Recently come across this news Android TV 13. The new UI for Android TV maybe there's new features so I so I know you are really very excited to know about Android 13 TV. New Features
The Android TV 13 box and when I set it up turn it on first thing it is sold me is the new Android TV 13 update is available. Well I downloaded the update which was like 700 MB, I installed it the TV and started. The home screen look like same as Android 12 or 11 or 10 or 9 , I can keep going a settings also look the same. there is the Android 13 thingy here but there's no way to rotate this clock and get the Easter egg. It's kind of pointless now, I thought maybe there are same new features that I am missing so I opened up Google change log and these are all the new Android TV 13 features. So there's improved audio manager API ability to change resolution and refresh rate on supported HDMI source device better power saving with HDMI state change input device API. Now suppose different keyboard layout and then their new accessibility features that all look I understand these are important developer specific behind the scene change in Android TV but it looks like Google just packed a minor Android TV 12.0.1 update as a brand new Android TV 13 update this actually makes the Android update from last year.
What did Android 12 bring?
Which by the way was also mother updates seem way better at least standard TV 12 brought these new permission controls. This mike in camera privacy indicator this my camera toggle and rounded corners to these boxing elements that's great and that's actually use compared to Android TV 13.
Android TV Over The Year
When I went back and checked almost all Android TV updated since it's origin have been minor updates Soya it's nothing surprising like scenario TVs almost always look the same years there have been under the huge improvements like always and Google has added as here on top which I know Allah of you on furious about but it about Android TV remains the same old outlet Android TV and this is the a lot of people have been waiting for a uidwamp. It did not arrive in Android TV 12 we are waiting for it is has not arrived in Android TV 13 and I am not really hopeful about Android TV 14 either it's a shame because it's not.
Android TV vs Google TV
Google can't make a modern looking TV UI, I mean just look at Google TV it too has a lot of these ads and recommendations on the home screen but I like Android TV it has an option to disable them with one click.
I am not kidding this actually brings me to the whole Android TV versus Google TV confusion. It's actually crazy I mean Google TV was launched with Chromecast 4K , all literally assumed that this new World TV experience is going to replace the Android TV experience I mean this was the title I went with for our post, I was so confident I mean I was confident because Google TV was very smoother it was then it had this rodent tomatoes integration the settings page with its dual point design look beautiful and more functional come pared to the bland one on Android TV you could see the battery status of your AAA battery. Battery power remotes the integration with Android phones was way better because Google TV had its own remote app on Android which was way a more responsive.
So I obviously assume that this new better your experience will be available for everyone new TV will launch with this new experience but it's been to years and obviously that has not happened and this is actually very strong because it's not like this Google TV experience is actually to Google device for example the whole pixel experience you get on pixel phone is exclusively two pixel devices so you don't get that on other Android phone and I am ok with that a little competitive edge for Google but Google TV.
Android TV Update
This honestly make me think that we always have a talk about Android it was his Apple, Android is better at this iOS is better at that but we never really have a debate about Apple TV versus Android TV sucks Apple TV is pottery smooth. It's beautiful to use Android TV other than is leggy there are no update the ads and blot wave. There is the whole Google TV & Android TV confusion. It's like Google is taking advantage of the fact that not all of us can afford an Apple TV.
Conclusion
For the time being, the Android 13 TV version is available to developers, enabling them to create applications and other user interfaces that correspond to the new platform's features. Therefore, most smart TVs using Android 12 should receive an upgrade later in 2019.
