This is the new jio book and the Titan you must have guest that this is a bad laptop but you know what jio is actually redefining bad with this laptop. It's actually sad because this could have been a really really good budget laptop at 15000 but it's not. See there are things that maybe I am okay with in this laptop and their things that I am just net okay with in this laptop. First let's know about what I am okay with in this laptop.
Look first of all this has a nice slim and allied waiter design that actually does not feel super cheap it has a this rubbery sort of finish which is big fingerprint magnet but I will take this over hard plastic bags anyway. Although I am not to sure about that durability. If you can see the force are also fine no USBC port but you do get USB. A ports mini HDMI and ever on SD Carol reader which is nice. The display is also think I am okay with it's an 11.6 inch TN panel and this is an average display with poor wing angles watched out colours all to the brightness seems find but for the price I will still call it diesel because it's not unusable. The keyboard and cranberry or okay for the price. The keys are a bit too small and the trackpad has lag but they work. The battery and Charging is actually good. I mean it takes one and a half hours to charge is great . The laptop work 5-6 hours which again is great for a low-end laptop. Connectivity device there's Wi-Fi dual band support Bluetooth 5.0 and there is also a great built but you have to go to a JIO Store to get it enabled so a lot of things in the JIO book are okay kind of fine for the price .
The jiobook is powered by SNAPDRAGON 665 which i know is a chipset from 2019 that we used to see in low end phones around 10k. So, the jiobook is kind of under powered for a laptop plus even Chromebook under 20k have 4GB RAM and 64GB storage while this comes with half storage and RAM. So the specs are not good in this laptop but what's worse is the OS. This comes with the brand new Jio OS and when I heard of it. I was sceptical but i thought maybe Jio's partnership with Google world mean that it will be something like Chromos Flex a lightweight OS for laptops but turns out it's just a disgrace the Jio OS is actually based on Android 10 which again launched three years before and the UI the performance the everything you feel like you are living in the gingerbread, ice-cream, i mean at the app icons everything looks outdated weirdly designed and a rehash of Android Chromos OS windows and even Mac OS. The settings page and the app drawer obviously Android in the windows are similar to Mac OS. Square instead of Circle you can see the chrome OS influence in settings and three brightness and volume sliders are ever the taskbar now I said the UI is weirdly design because you have this jio button in the corner and you did expect it to maybe open up the jio app on open up the app drop but if actually open up the power bar menu another example is a search in in the taskbar which actually open up the files manager and jio OS has to file manager to choose from by default. There are lot more things like that the corner of the UI are rounded while the display is not show it looks like this now this is practically Android but there's no Play Store please tall in no Chrome and no other browser decent browser printstalled. I mean you get this app called Webview browser duster with Android icon us associate from unfinished app and this has again a super outdated UI with no features at all.
Now you can use Jio store to get the apps I mean we installed edge and it works and it has all the features but the problem is jio store only worked for us once. Now when we open it it says device not registered with no suggestions on how to register the device. That not only bug though the task manager and jio OS crashes most of the time and sometimes it crashes the whole system also the laptop gives you this time when opening and closing the lid but the sound is always delayed and sometimes it just plays up randomly. About this is best on Android so you can install APKs. All those side loading Play Store did not over also you can wondering if you can install chromos Flex on it should be possible because it's powered by an arm chipset to do that yet.
This new jio book is disappointment. Honestly this makes me feel that jio just cannot make good hardware. I mean the jio work at around 15k could have disappointed the market because there is a lot of demand for affordable laptop under 20k in India. But this is just a missed opportunity I mean most of the features in jio book or ok for price tag it comes it but jio OS is just a nightmarish experience.
